Things you should know about A Good Yarn
A Good Yarn is owned by Linda Stanyon Johnson, previous owner of The Woolgathering, on New York City's Upper East Side, for 10 years.
Our studio is at 4270 Horder Court, Snellville, Georgia 30039, 15 minutes from U.S. 78 East (the Stone Mountain freeway). Call 845-913-6547 for an appointment. We're generally available on short notice weekdays and often on weekends as well. We'll help you design a new project, for free, choosing from our large selection of yarn, patterns and pattern books, and a huge selection of notions including one of the largest assortments of vintage buttons in the Southeast (which are not for sale on the Web site). We specialize in writing patterns to your dimensions, to insure a great fit.

On the Web, we offer more than a dozen lines of yarn, notions, free vintage patterns, pattern books, and the largest archive of knitting images anywhere on the Web.

We specialize in helping you find a new project and designing it to fit. We have literally thousands of patterns (including every issue of Vogue Knitting back to the 1930s) plus a huge selection of vintage buttons and buckles for just the right finishing touch.
